Cook Cupcakes

Hmmm

I've been unfriended!  Perhaps I should not have found humor in her LJ post announcing to her close friends that they wouldn't be invited to her wedding.  But really, if that is not funny, what the heck is?  I mean, an LJ post!  So, don't be waiting breathlessly by your mailbox, folks, cause the invite just aint comin*.  lolol.

*However, I'm sure registry info would be provided upon request.

Glad to know I still have some bitchiness in me!

Hormones are making me crazy / Vera Bradley

That must be it because I was just on the Vera Bradley website and I saw some bags I thought were kind of cute!!  I know I have some friendslist peeps who are Vera fans...perhaps they're onto something?!  Have I gone insane?  They seem like they could make good diaper bags!  I like Bermuda Blue and Nantucket Navy.  Maybe I'll order one and pretend someone sent it to me as a gift.....fans, what styles do you like?  Villager?  That seems like a good size.

Also, could you add a shot of bourbon? And do you guys sell smokes and formula?

Grrr to the "barista" at Starbucks...no, I do *not* want decaf, thankyouverymuch.  Do you ask all the fat tourists if they want their extra large frappachino to be sugar free, low fat, hold the whip cream?

Note to self...get coffee at the deli for 89 cents or just make it at home!

Lawyers, guns and money

Well, just lawyers and money.

I need an attorney to do wills and living wills for my husband and myself.  Does anyone have recommendations?  Arlington/Alexandria/Falls Church area preferred.

Also, I'm looking for a good insurance agent (life insurance).  Any recommendations?

Thank you.

Whoops, meant to post this in Arlington_VA!

It's Time

Last summer @ Dremos

How tragic that my child will only experience this in utero.

**When is the patio opening? It depends on the weather. We are hoping around the 2nd weekend in May. Each day will be a "game time decision" for the first few weeks while we are waiting for the weather to change for good. Call our hotline, if the patio is open, it will say so in the beginning of the message. 703.528.4660. General rule of thumb: if the over night low is below 65, it won't be open.

We saw The War Tapes at the E St. Theater Friday night.  Everyone should see this movie...I wish Bush would see it too.

Yesterday D went to hang out wiht his brother so I had a me day.  I went to the library and to see The Devil Wears Prada, which was fab.  Then I came home and read and watched trashy TV and ate tri-color spirals with tons of butter.

Today I'm going to a driving range with D and a bunch of his friends.  Apparently you can hang out and have drinks and snacks, which sounds perfect to me.  We might go see Pirates after, we shall see.

in brief

I'm back from Phoenix.  It's too hot to live there.

(As an aside, I was in the gallery listening to some of their floor debate on the many immigration bills, and listening to the reps talk about illegal immigrants "draining the resources of the state".  If I wasn't there advocating for my own org, this is what I would have said:

People who decide to live in the middle of the damn desert, with suburban sprawl as far as the eye can see, with little or no public transport, with every building air conditioned all year round, with outside areas "misted" with water to keep people cool, with golf course greens to keep up with expensive irrigation, with every other car an SUV, and with a state that catches fire every year, should NOT be talking about draining resources.  Or at least not without seeing the irony of such statements.)

Anyway, I'm back.  The meetings went well, the hotel was nice, the direct flight from PHX to BWI is a popular one, there are so many idiots travelling it's amazing people can make it through their day, I took the Marc to the Metro to get home and did it in an hour and a half, door to door, I'm tired.

We have a wedding to go to tomorrow (must get a present), and no other plans for the rest of weekend except organizing, cleaning, etc.

For some reason I just had two doughnuts.  Must get back to the gym.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I will never cease to be amazed how many liberals, and/or feminists, and/or whatever lefty term you can name STILL use retarded as an insult. The same people that would be jumping all over themselves (rightfully so!) when someone uses a derogatory term against women, Jews, or any other minority group.

Glad you're soooo for equal rights for everyone...oh, except the "retards".

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! I will never let this die, and I will never stop pointing it out.

zappos

I've said it before, but it should be said again.  Zappos rules.  I ordered some shoes when I was in a bizarre state of mind...the style of these shoes were questionable, at best.  So Zappos has free shipping and free returns.  I printed out the free UPS label and sent the shoes back on Tuesday, I got an e-mail from Zappos yesterday that my return was received and my card credited.  Now that's good service.
